How to Save iPhone Battery Life

Are you an iPhone user concerned about the battery life of your phone? Battery life refers to the time you can use your phone between two charge cycles of your phone. The concern regarding the battery life of the phone starts when your phone runs out of charge frequently. Also, you might have to put your phone on charge more frequently than that you usually do. iPhones specifically have Lithium-ion batteries as they are less weight and charge faster. Also, they last longer in comparison to other batteries. However, as time passes, the batteries deplete their capacity and these qualities. In this session, let’s learn a few tips to save iPhone battery.

    How to Save iPhone Battery

The life of your phone’s battery solely depends on how you use your phone. There might be certain battery-depleting features you happen to use that you might not be aware of. Also, the battery life of the iPhones differs based on user access. Check out the simple tips that can save the iPhone battery.

    Screen Brightness

If you doubt if or not adjusting the screen brightness helps you with saving the battery life of the iPhone, then the answer is yes. It is because screen brightness takes a good amount of energy to light up your screen.

    • If you own an iPhone with iOS 13, enable Dark Mode. Go to Settings> Display & Brightness> Dark Mode.
    • Further, if you don’t want a Dark Mode, reduce brightness by, Settings> Display & Brightness> Adjust the brightness.
    • Also, you can set Auto-brightness by, Settings> Accessibility< Display & Text Size < Auto-Brightness (turn it on).

    Depleting Battery

Ensure not to use your iPhone till the charge lasts or completely drains out. It is because completely discharging your iPhone charge will reduce the battery life span. So, each time you let your phone go to 0%, you are reducing its life span. Ensure that your phone battery is not less than 20% or 30% before charging it again.

    Optimized Battery Charging

It is to note that this feature isn’t available on all iPhones. If you have an iPhone with iOS 13 or later, you have this feature. It makes use of your daily phone charging schedule to come up with a battery-saving plan. With this, you can get to know when you will let your phone charge. It helps the battery have its 100% capacity with its machine learning feature.

To turn on optimized Battery Charging, go to Settings> Battery> Battery Health> Optimized Battery Charging (turn it on).

    Temperature

Have you ever wondered if the surrounding temperature can harm your iPhone? The answer is Yes, and the temperature can damage your iPhone battery. Apple itself has recommended using iPhones at a temperature between 0 °C and 35 °C. So, when at places of high temperatures, make sure not to leave your phone outside. Also, refrain from leaving phones inside closed spaces like a car. Higher temperatures give permanent damage to your phones’ battery. Further, you need to charge your phone at the above-mentioned temperature range.

Your phone notifies you to switch to a Low Power Mode when the battery charge reaches 20%. Again at 10%, it notifies. When you turn on Low Power Mode, you can’t use most functions. However, it will save your battery life. If you don’t have much to do on your iPhone, leave it in a Low Power Mode. It doesn’t matter if your iPhone has a decent percentage of charge in it. However, you can’t use Email, Siri, and iCloud Photos on the Low Power Mode. Go to Settings> Battery> Low Power Mode.

    Use Wi-Fi over Cellular Data

You might be confused about whether connecting to Wi-Fi or using mobile data will reduce battery charge. Using Wi-Fi will save your battery power. When we use Wi-Fi, files uploads and downloads faster. So, for the same amount of work, you need less time on Wi-Fi. Eventually, the battery is saved to an extend. However, the use of slow Wi-Fi connections will affect your battery health.

    Wi-Fi Settings

There are certain Wi-Fi settings that you might want to alter. The Auto-Join Hotspots option will deplete your battery. Even when you are connected to a good connection, your phone keeps track of other networks. So, it uses some amount of energy on this. To reduce the loss, turn it off. Also, if there are multiple routers at your place, select any one manually. Ensure your phone doesn’t look for more connections.

    Turn Off Notifications

You know that each time a notification pops, your screen gets lightened. The same happens if you have an app that notifies you frequently.
